Penza Airport runway to be able to accommodate Boeing planes in fall

Penza, 13 August 2013. PenzaNews. The reconstruction of the Penza airport runway will be completed in early fall 2013, after which it will be able to accommodate different types of planes, including Boeing. This was announced by the governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev at a meeting of the Coordinating Council on the activities of political parties on Tuesday, August 13.

“Today I got acquainted with the reconstruction of the runway, which is still behind the schedule; however in fall we will have 2.8 km long runway instead of the old one which was only 2.1 km. So the airport will be able to accommodate the most types of planes,” Vasily Bochkarev said.
He also added that the current runway in Penza cannot accommodate Boeings because of a number of technical characteristics.
