Penza, 16 August 2013. PenzaNews. 3,190 children were born in Penza during the first seven months of 2013.

As the press service of the regional Ministry of Health told news agency “PenzaNews,” the figure rose by 0.3% compared with the same period last year.

“In total, 8,302 children were born in the Penza region, which is 15 people more than last year. The highest birth rate is in Gorodishchensky, Shemisheysky and Penza areas,” the ministry said.

The ministry also noted that 72 people less died during the first seven months of 2013 than in the same period a year ago.

“The mortality rate is lower than the regional average in Penza, Penza and Bessonovsky areas. Among the causes of death are: circulatory system diseases – 65.8%, neoplasms – 13.8%, and accidents, poisonings and injuries – 8.9%,” the press-service explained.
