Penza, 16 August 2013. PenzaNews. Electronic clocks will be placed on the facade of the passenger building at the station Penza-I in the framework of its reconstruction. This was stated by the chief architect of Penza Dmitry Polishko.

“The passenger building was once awarded the State Prize, so the task for its reconstruction was formulated in such a way as to keep its architectural concept, giving it a new meaning with the help of modern technology and interior materials. However, we decided to replaced the old clocks with electronic, so that they suit the character and style of the building itself. It will be a LED panel, which will indicate not only the time but also the date and day of the week. It will be easier to read them from a distance,” he explained.

Dmitry Polishko added that the architectural motif “Swallow” that had been decorating the passenger building for decades would be three-dimensional and made of stainless steel with elements of the backlight.

According to him, small architectural forms might be installed on the platform.

“We consider two options. The first one is stationmaster and the second — the lady from the famous poem by Samuil Marshak “Baggage,” the press service of Penza administration quoted Dmitry Polishko.
