They marched in three columns carrying ten-meter long white, blue and red colored stripes along Moskovskaya St — starting at the former cinema “Rodina” to Fontannaya Square.
The culmination of the festival was the mass painting — everyone had an opportunity to leave their greeting message on 7-meter long white, blue and red stripes representing the national flag of the Russian Federation, as well as the greeting on the upcoming 350th anniversary of Penza.
According to the Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Penza regional branch of the United Russia Party Andrei Yelistratov, the stripes will be sewn together upon completion.
“On September 14, on the day of the anniversary of the city, we'll march with the symbolic flag in the center of the city, after which it will be passed over to the museum. I hope that years later, children and grandchildren of those who left the messages will see those greetings,” he said.
