PenzaNews. 687 police officers, 476 representatives of public organizations and 39 private security officers will be involved in maintaining of public order in the Penza region on the Day of Knowledge, September 1. This was reported by the deputy police head of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs Nikolai Sarmin during a press conference on Friday, August 30.

He said that public events are planned in 549 regional objects.

“The department proposed the regional government to limit the sale of alcoholic beverages during from 8.00 to 23.00 on the Day of Knowledge,” Nikolai Sarmin added.

The deputy police head explained that the work aimed at ensuring the safety of school children will be carried out actively not only on the first day of school, but also throughout the entire September.

“Police will pay close attention to school buses — starting with pre-trip medical examination of drivers up to the destination point. In order to promote safe behavior, including that on the roads, traffic police officers and the juvenile division will hold meetings with the schoolchildren,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza region quoted Nikolai Sarmin.
