Penza, 4 September 2013. PenzaNews. The Penza region will host the Russian social-patriotic marathon “Strong in Spirit – 2013.”

According to the press service of the regional government, it is expected that 35 war disabled servicemen and war veterans will visit Penza as a part of the action.

“On Thursday, September 5, the action participants will march to the memorial complex “Afghan gates” where a memorial meeting will be organized with the wreath and flower laying. Then, a sporting event will be held in the sports and recreation complex “Sputnik” with demonstration performances and master classes,” the press service noted.

The third social-patriotic marathon of wheelchair users and disabled veterans “Strong in Spirit” started in Moscow on August 25, and it will run until September 8.

The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad.

The marathon runs through Nizhny Novgorod, Cheboksary, Yoshkar-Ola, Kazan, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Saratov, Volgograd, Penza, Saransk and Ryazan.
