Leading cardiac surgeons from Russia, France and Brazil came to Penza

Penza, 10 September 2013. PenzaNews. Leading experts from Russia, France, and Brazil are taking part in the scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery in Penza, which opened on Tuesday, September 10.

It is expected that in the course of the event the participants will discuss the most pressing problems and prospects of providing high-tech medical care to patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system.

Welcoming the surgeons, the governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev underlined that thanks to their skills many lives were saved.

“Thus, for five years of existence of Penza center, provision of high-tech medical care increased by 46% compared to 2009. While mortality rate from diseases of the circulatory system decreased by 8%,” the head of the region stated.

However, he added that the health sector is still in need of modernization.

“Today we need to improve the methods of treatment, reach a new level of production of medical implants adopting world’s best practices. I hope that the exchange of views and experiences during this forum will help to determine the best ways of preserving people’s health,” the press service of the government of the Penza region quoted Vasily Bochkarev.
