“They promised to finish all work by Thursday [September 12]. I am looking forward to seeing the results. I am going to inspect everything personally,” the mayor wrote in his blog on Tuesday, September 10.

Earlier it was planned that the whole set of reconstruction work of the pedestrian street will be completed by Sunday, September 8.

However, on Tuesday, September 10, during a weekly operational meeting at the City Hall, the deputy head of the capital construction of Penza Alexander Ivanov reported that the finishing date was postponed.

“In any case, on Thursday night the latest, all the work will be completed. The only thing that bothers is the weather, and there have been some delays with the materials. But for now, all the problems have been solved. And, of course, everything will be ready by the day of celebration,” he promised.

According to the press service of the city administration, 130 people are engaged in the reconstruction in Moskovskaya Street at present.

“The workers are to cut tree rim ranges and put tiles in the remaining areas. On September 12 they will mount the stormwater drainage gratings, and then the territory will be cleared of debris,” the press service of the City Hall explained.
