Penza, 24 September 2013. PenzaNews. One billion rubles will be allocated for road construction in municipalities of the Penza region in 2014. This was announced by governor Vasily Bochkarev.

“The money will be allocated to those areas which are ready to realize the funds. The same amount was allocated this year. The program includes areas where the road system needs to be repaired. In the districts and areas, where the heads used the allocated amount with all responsibility, we can see the results — paved roads,” the head of the region said during a meeting with journalists of the regional media.

“The villages also need sidewalks, so that people could get to schools, shops, medical and obstetric centers,” Vasily Bochkarev noted.

He reminded that the next year, the region will welcome a large number of guests from other Russian regions.

“In 2014 a lot of activities in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Penza region are scheduled. In addition, we will celebrate the 140th anniversary of Vsevolod Meyerhold and the 200th anniversary of Mikhail Lermontov. This is the reason to unite, invite guests and tell them about our region,” the governor concluded.
