Penza, 25 September 2013. PenzaNews. Video surveillance systems should be used to prevent the citizens from the acquisition of narcotic drugs for non-medical use. This opinion was expressed by the governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev during a meeting of the region's anti-drug commission held in Kamenka on Wednesday, September 25.

Vasily Bochkarev instructed his subordinates to study the issue in detail in the nearest future.

“The problem of drug addiction is a global challenge to the civil society and the environment for crime and smuggling. Drug abuse is a phenomenon which, unfortunately, has become threatening on the state scale over the past few years. This is why it is important to approach this issue in a complex manner. We need to strengthen prevention work in schools, primary, secondary vocational education establishments and higher education institutions. Today it is important to fight for preservation of every child’s life,” the press service quoted the head of the region.
