Penza, 3 October 2013. PenzaNews. The first stage of health examination of the Penza region residents revealed 1,162 cases of neoplasms, including 1,100 malignant ones.

Representative of the regional health ministry press service told news agency PenzaNews that the health examination conducted allowed to decrease mortality from neoplasms by 0,8 % for the last eight months – from 212,5 to 210,7 for 100 thousand people.

“Eight cases of tuberculosis were also identified. 3,515 cases of diabetes are registered, more than 12 thousand people are diagnosed with obesity and 29 thousand people have exceeding body mass index. Diseases of the circulatory system are revealed among 59,4 thousand people. Over 16 thousand people have cerebrovascular disease,” the spokesman said.

He added that 34,5 thousand people were registered with the diseases they were diagnosed for the first time.

According to the representative of the Penza region Ministry of Health, 181,7 thousand of citizens have passed the first stage of examination, which is 72.7 % of the annual plan.
