Penza, 8 October 2013. PenzaNews. The players published an open letter on the Internet and asked the Penza region governor Vasily Bochkarev to cancel the decision as premature.
“We believe that both D. Koryagin and A. Sidorenko do their best to make the team show good results during competitions. It is them who brought silver medals to “Diesel” in 2010 season. It is no secret that over the years the team has had financial problems, but it does not cause any difficulties neither in the training process, nor in food and forms supply,” said the letter, the copy of which was given to news agency “PenzaNews.”
The letter expresses surprise with the fact that it has been the third attempt to replace the team administration within one season.
“Everyone can have flaws in their work, but they could be dealt with in due course. The man who never made a mistake, never made anything. We know you have never been indifferent to hockey in our city, and the results of the team work have always mattered to you, so we are assuring you that we have created an efficient team, able to resolve difficult tasks. We ask you to interfere in the situation and let the club administration and the trainer work,” said the letter signed by 30 players.
Press service of the Penza region Physical Culture and Sport Committee told news agency PenzaNews that the department administration was informed about the letter.
“Official comments on the information presented in the letter will be given in the afternoon,” the Committee said.
