Penza, 11 October 2013. PenzaNews. The solemn gathering dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Russian civil defense took place in Penza regional library named after M.Y. Lermontov.

The officials stressed the importance of civil defense officers, who work hard every day to ensure safety of the region residents.

While greeting people gathered in the hall, the head of the city administration Roman Chernov displayed his respect for them and wished them strong health.

Then the city mayor presented Sergei Kozlov, the head of Penza office of Russian Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations, the jubilee medal “In memory of 350th anniversary of Penza city.”

Moreover, the best workers were awarded with certificates of honor and letters of appreciation.

During the event the results of the competition “Constellation of Courage – 2013”were summed up, and the work of news agency PenzaNews photo correspondent Maksim Kostyushin was honored within the competition.
