Believers were both inside and outside the building. After the prayers they went home.

“Sacrification is forbidden in the yard of the mosque, because there is no special place for it. People will slaughter sacrificial cattle in villages,” Rafik Shabanov, the imam-hatib of the Penza cathedral mosque told news agency “PenzaNews.”

“On behalf of the cathedral mosque spiritual directorate of Muslims we will also dispense food today after the noon salat. Muslims will leave one part for themselves, the other one will be alms-given, and the third part will be left for the rich. Deprived and needy people will get the meat of sacrificial cattle,” the agency interlocutor said.

Rafik Shabanov pointed out that Kurban Bayram is one of the most important feasts for Muslims.

“It unites the poor and the rich, men, women and children. It is one of the grandest days,” the imam-hatib of the Penza cathedral mosque concluded.
