Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights: Quality of drinking water in Penza worse than average in region

Penza, 23 October 2013. PenzaNews. The quality of drinking water in Penza is worse than average in the region. The press service of the regional office of Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights told this to news agency PenzaNews on Wednesday, October 23.

“The density weight of water sample that do not meet the requirement of microbiological indicators in Penza is 5,9% and average for the region is 3,4%. The exceedance of average level was detected when samples were analyzed for compliance with the hygiene requirements of sanitary-chemical indicators. 7,2% of samples in the region and 10,9% in Penza do not meet the set values,” the office said.
Along with that, the agency noted that in general in the last 9 months of 2013 the quality of drinking water in the Penza region has improved.
“Comparing with the same period last year, the density weight of sample that do not meet requirements of microbiological indicators, decreased by 2,3%, and of sanitary-chemical indicators – by 3,5%,” Russian agency for Health and Consumer Rights said.
