Penza, 23 October 2013. PenzaNews. The Penza Regional Philharmonic, built at the intersection of Nekrasov and Suvorov Streets, will be opened by the end of the month. The chairman of the holding SKM Group, who is also the manager of the Philharmonic and movie and concert hall projects, announced it.

“The opening of the site is planned to be held in October of this year. We did not manage to finish it by the City Day, because the schedule was tight. However, it is worth emphasizing that we have been building the site for less than 2 years. It is a very short period,” he said during the meeting with journalists on Wednesday, October 23.

Andrey Galkin added that Philharmonic is a unique building due to its front elevation, first of all, which looks like a broken line and made of natural stone.

In addition, according to the head of the project, builders managed to arrange good acoustics, as envisaged by the project.

“The main walls are finished with acoustic panels, they are fixed at the rigid frame. All the items of the interior are made of solid oak. It is important that the ceiling is made of monolithic plaster. That means that the sound will reflect off of these surfaces,” Andrey Galkin explained.

He also noted that the organ made by German specialists on special order was set in the Penza Philharmonic.

“It has around 2,5 thousand copper and tinned tubes, air runs through them and creates sounds,” said the general contractor representative.
