Penza, 25 October 2013. PenzaNews. Penza pupils should be provided with hot meals on Saturdays like on other days. The head of the city Yuri Alpatov expressed this opinion during the 55th session in the City Duma on Friday, October 25.

Replying the head of education department of Penza Yuri Golodyaev, who said that such recommendation had been given to school prior to 1 September, Yuri Alpatov demanded that the condition to organize hot meals for pupils on Saturdays should be included in tender documentation while concluding municipal contracts.

“Children study six days a week, so workers of food units cannot have a five-day work week. It is nonsense. If you missed it, then get back to the issue and bring it into compliance,” the head of the city said.

Yuri Golodyaev in his turn tried to explain that some parents argued against organizing food for children on days off.

“It is a different question. You organize it and parents will have the right to refuse,” Yuri Alpatov emphasized.
