Penza region to get almost 24 million rubles to fight tuberculosis

Penza, 28 October 2013. PenzaNews. The Penza region will get 23 million 751,1 thousand rubles to fight tuberculosis.

The money will be allocated to the region from the federal budget in 2013. The decree of the government of the Russian Federation was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

According to the document, the copy of which was given to news agency “PenzaNews,” in total 3,4 billion rubles are planned to be sent to the subordinate entities of the Federation.

“In 2012 there were detected 240,1 thousand TBC (tuberculosis) patients, 33,7 thousand of them are with multiple drug resistance to tuberculosis originators. In 2013 there were 226 thousand and 34,8 thousand cases correspondingly. The money is allocated for tuberculosis prevention, reducing morbidity and mortality and achievement of the targets, set by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation from 7 May 2013. In accordance with the targets, it is necessary to reduce tuberculosis mortality up to 11,8 cases for 100,000 people by 2018,” the decree explanatory note said.
