Penza, 5 November 2013. PenzaNews. 218 thousand 159 tourists, including more than 216 thousand Russian citizens and more than 2 thousand foreigners, visited the Penza region in the period from January to September 2013.

The head of culture and archive of the Penza region Evgeny Shilov thinks that several factors contributed to the inrush of tourists.

“First of all, the auto cluster is planned to be built here, and now the works on motorway service facilities construction is being conducted. In addition, new facilities of tourism industry are being opened in the region. During the three quarters of the current year, the hotel in Prospekt Stroiteley St. in Penza and two holiday centers in Kuznetsky area were opened. At present 79 hotels, 26 holiday centers and 11 health resorts are functioning in the territory of the region,” the press service of the department of culture and archive of the Penza region quoted Evgeny Shilov.
