Almost 28% of Penza region residents vaccinated against influenza

Penza, 20 November 2013. PenzaNews. The influenza vaccination coverage in the Penza region is 27,9%. This was reported to news agency PenzaNews by the representative of the press service of the regional Ministry of Health on Wednesday, November 20.
“More than 382 thousand people got injected,” the agency interlocutor said.
He added that there have been no cases of influenza registered in the region.
“In coordination with the office of Federal Supervision Agency for Consumer Protection and Human Welfare in the Penza region, the immunization will continue until December 10,” the representative of the regional Ministry of Health said.
According to him, the vaccination proved to be effective.
“Following the results of 2012, it prevented no less than 102 thousand cases of influenza. The direct losses averted amount to 950,4 million rubles. The calculated economic effect in different population segments ranges from 7,3 to 14,5 rubles per 1 ruble invested in the vaccination,” the agency interlocutor concluded.
