Police starts performing raids to identify violators of smoking ban in Penza

Penza, 27 November 2013. PenzaNews. Penza police began raids to identify persons, violating the law banning smoking in public places.

“In the course of one of such raids, in the territory of the city emergency hospital there were detained 11 people, all of them were patients. The violators admitted their guilt. Reports on administrative offence were compiled against them. Fines in the amount of 500 rubles were assigned to each smoker,” the press service of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region told news agency “PenzaNews.”
The department reminded that from November 15 the amendments to the Administrative Offences Code of the Russian Federation entered into force, they prohibit smoking in public places, including educational, health and cultural institutions.
“Raids to identify violators will be regularly performed,” the press service pointed out.
