Mayor’s office: Advertising signs in Kuznetsk should be in Russian

Kuznetsk, 13 December 2013. PenzaNews. Texts of advertising signs in Kuznetsk of the Penza region should be written in Russian. This statement was posted on the official site of the city administration.
It notes that, in accordance with the federal law, the Russian language is subject to obligatory use in names of bodies of power of different levels as well as organizations of all patterns of ownership.
“This requirement must be taken into account when placing advertisements or signboards in the territory of Kuznetsk,” the statement said.
As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, during the meeting in the government of the Penza region on 25 November 2013, the governor Vasily Bochkarev instructed his subordinates to work out a project for translating banners and signs from foreign languages into Russian.
According to the head of the region, foreign names can be used as additional, however, the priority should be given to the Russian language.
