It was conducted in the framework of the same-name project which is being implemented in the Penza region by four public organizations – the “Civil Union” fund, regional department of the “Memorial” fund and the Russian Peace Foundation, as well as the group of volunteers “Silver season.”

In the framework of the project, 91 works were presented to the jury each of which is dedicated to victims of fascism.

Sixty nine people from 17 areas of the region, Zarechny and Penza participated in the contest.

In the end, the winners in five categories were announced.

In the category “Sketch and portrait,” Sofia Morozova, Maria Borodina and Alina Papsheva were the best.

The jury also marked the presentations prepared by Gleb Udavikhin, Yulia Yagudina and Alexei Sheburenkov.

In the category “Research work,” which was the largest by the number of participants, Irina Korchagina, Svetlana Eskina, Elena Yakubova, Alina Oleinikova and Maria Kostyuk were recognized the best.

Nadezhda Mokhnacheva, Nikita Rodionov and Egor Ershov were awarded in the category “Drawing.”

In addition, in the course of the event there were awarded the teachers Olga Stepanova, Tatiana Merkushina and Alfia Abdikeeva in the category “Events.”

As the executive director of the local community fund “Civil Union “ Oleg Sharipkov remarked, the organizers had doubts concerning the need for such contest.

“Now that we got your works, it is clear that there is need for it, because people who suffered from fascism and who are not awarded on the Victory Day on May 9 are gradually being forgotten. This consent is to make the history open to the public,” he said.

Oleg Sharipkov also expressed gratitude to charity givers – the companies Rostelecom, Megafon and Gidriatika who provided prizes to the winners.
