Yuri Alpatov and Roman Chernov reward Penza journalists at 2013’s end

Penza, 23 December 2013. PenzaNews. The solemn event dedicated to summarizing the results of the annual city media competition of sharing information on work of local self-government bodies of Penza took place in the mayor’s office on Monday, 23 December. The head of the city Yuri Alpatov, greeting the heads of the regional mass media and journalists, thanked them for their cooperation and objectivity in work.

“I do not know who has more power – you or us,” he remarked.
Yuri Alpatov added that mass media fulfills an important function every day actually shortening the distance between people and authorities.
“The officials cannot reach every citizen with problems for obvious reasons. But with your help we see problems and solve them,” he said.
The head of the city administration Roman Chernov, in his turn, said that 2013 was not easy and not only because this year is an anniversary year for Penza.
At the same time, the mayor remarked that the 350th anniversary brought people together and did many significant for the city things.
During the event, veterans of journalism and media personnel were awarded memorable medals, diplomas, certificates of gratitude and souvenirs.
The editorial staff of news agency PenzaNews was awarded the Penza City Duma diploma for civil and public sound.
In addition, the editor-in-chief of news agency PenzaNews Pavel Polosin, the editor Svetlana Katysheva and the photo correspondent Maksim Kostyushin were expressly marked for their professional excellence and great contribution to media coverage of work of local self-government bodies of Penza.
The head of news agency PenzaNews Ivan Malikov as well as the head of the editorial staff were awarded the jubilee medal “In memory of 350th anniversary of Penza.”
