Penza, 25 December 2013. PenzaNews. The ceremony of awarding the winners of the competition for the best media coverage of the work of the Penza region Legislative Assembly in 2013 was held on Wednesday, December 25.

Addressing the participants of the meeting, the speaker of the regional parliament Ivan Belozertsev thanked the journalists of the Penza media who throughout the whole year rendered information support to the Legislative Assembly and fairly covered significant events.

“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the work you do every day, for always being close and for telling people of the laws adopted in lay terms,” he said.

Ivan Belozertsev emphasized that within 2013 the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region sent 7 legislative initiatives to the State Duma and the Federation Council, adopted 168 laws and 265 orders, and held reception of 500 citizens.

About 30 employees of Penza television companies, newspapers, radio stations, news agencies and Internet portals were given awards and valuable gifts during the event, including the editor-in-chief of news agency PenzaNews Pavel Polosin who received gratitude from the Legislative Assembly of the region.
