Penza, 9 January 2014. PenzaNews. 139 offenses were registered in the territory of the Penza region in the period from 1 to 8 January.

“This is consistent with the level of last year,” the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation told news agency PenzaNews on Thursday, January 9.

The press service added that during New Year celebrations there were prevented 913 administrative offenses.

“176 events were held in Penza on New Year’s Eve, with 50 thousand people attending them. 833 police officers and 384 representatives of law enforcement public associations were involved in protection of public order and ensuring security of residents. On the night of 6 to 7 January, Christmas services, visited by nearly 25 thousand people, were held in 120 localities. 432 police officers as well as 200 representatives of public associations were involved in ensuring public order and safety. As a result of measures taken, no incidents occurred in event locations,” the press service stressed.
