Several dozens of accidents of different modes of transport occurred on the city roads already in the morning.
This was caused by the ice slick, as well as by the snowfall which hid many pits and bumps from drivers.
Some taxi drivers refused to work in protests against the poor, in their view, road service.
The situation on the roads is expected to get tougher in the next 24 hours.
According to the forecast, the above-zero temperature will be replaced by frost – the mercury will fall below minus ten degrees Celsius on the night of Tuesday, January 14.
If the responsible services do not take measures to clear the roads from snow, traffic on the main streets of the city, as well as in the yards will be severely hindered.
