Penza, 17 January 2014. PenzaNews. Over 20 thousand cubic meters of snow were removed from Penza in the last 24 hours. This was reported by the director of the municipal enterprise “Penzadormost” Andrei Shevchenko on Friday, January 17.

According to him, currently road services work in enhance mode – 103 units of snowplows were used at night and there were 130 of them in the morning.

As the head of the housing and communal services department of Penza Vladimir Mutovkin explained, at night time main roads of the city were cleaned first place.

“According to the technology, several vehicles go in one direction at a time. If such works are organized in daytime they practically paralyze the traffic,” he remarked.

With the coming of daylight all efforts were aimed at cleaning minor roads and sidewalks, the press service of the mayor’s office said.
