Penza, 17 January 2014. PenzaNews. The third international scientific and practical conference “Innovative implants in surgery” started its work on the basis of the high technology park “Rameev” in Penza on Friday, January 17.

While opening a plenary meeting the head of the department of the reconstructive surgery of valves and coronary arteries of the Research Center of Cardiovascular Surgery named after A. N. Bakulev of RAMS Ivan Skopin expressed hope that the communication of specialists will be most constructive.

“Today, heart surgery is one of the high-tech and multidisciplinary areas of the modern medical science. And its further effective development depends on rational organization and coordination of various institutions, consolidation of efforts of practitioners and scientists. It is pleasant to note that innovative development work in the sphere of heart surgery in Penza, in particular, the production of valves is as good as in the West,” he said.

In turn, the chairman of the regional government Yuri Krivov emphasized the relevance of fundamental research and implementation of fundamentally new methods of treatment in clinical practice.

“One of the main objectives of the development of cardiac surgery is the creation of the necessary infrastructure. It is important that Penza has a pool of companies capable of developing innovative projects in the sphere of cardiac surgery,” he stressed.

As the press service of the regional government told news agency “PenzaNews,” after the official part of the conference, the participants visited an exhibition of medicines and equipment produces at Penza enterprises.

The program of the conference is designed for three days.
