14,2 % of teachers of Penza region are pensioners

Penza, 21 January 2014. PenzaNews. 14,2 % of school teachers working in the Penza region are pensioners.

“84,3 % of teachers are aged 35-55 years,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Education told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry noted that the number of young professionals is increasing annually.

“73 young teachers started to work on September 1, 2013, and a year ago — 45,” the press service pointed out.

The Ministry clarified that the schools of the Penza region employ 10,108 pedagogical workers, including 8,882 teachers.

“Just like all over Russia, most of the teachers here are women. Men make up only 11,2 %,” the representative of the Ministry of Education in the region added.
