Penza, 4 February 2014. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev pointed out that there is a need to build a competent system for the prevention of high mortality among working-age population in the region.

“Our main problem is a high mortality rate, including the working-age population, although the regional and federal budgets have already invested enough money in medicine. Now the civil society and me as the governor are expecting the results,” Vasily Bochkarev said during the opening ceremony of the new infectious building of the regional center of specialized types of medical care on Tuesday, February 4.

The head of the region emphasized that prevention is no less important than the availability of high-tech equipment and professional treatment.

“The medical staff must work with the population beginning from school. They must visit factories and other enterprises and tell people about healthy way of life. This educational program does not work today, and my efforts to encourage health workers to move this way had no impact so far. But somehow the man does not begin to take care of himself as long as he alright in terms of health,” Vasily Bochkarev noted.
