Penza, 7 February 2014. PenzaNews. One of the main topics of the meeting of the city duma committee on education, health, science, culture and social affairs, held on Friday, February 7, became the issue of reconstruction of Penza zoo.

As the head of the department of culture of Penza Vera Feygina informed, despite the fact that there was a change of the contractor, the work is done very slowly.

“There are a lot of unfinished pieces. Thus, the work on the administrative buildings, a complex for southern animals and other objects has not been completed yet,” she explained.

In his turn, city mayor Yuri Alpatov, made a suggestion.

“Maybe, there is a necessity to appeal to Penza residents asking for support. I think the citizens will respond,” he said.

Yuri Alpatov instructed the deputy head of administration of Penza Larissa Ryabikhina to analyze the situation and prepare an expanded report on the progress of construction work at the zoo for the upcoming session, the press service of the city duma reported.
