“Today, the main problem is a so-called non-contact type of drug trafficking, when the distributor and the consumer do not contact directly and communicate only through the Internet. Our services together with the drug control service have identified the format and methods of cooperation,” he said.
According to Yuri Ruzlyaev, they already have some experience in this area — in particular, large amounts which may be the payment for drugs are tracked through QIWI-wallet.
The head of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region turned to an example of the case when the schoolchildren were detained with 1 kg of spice which they intended to split in two parts — 400 and 600 grams.
“I will not disclose our technical capabilities, but the work in this direction continues,” he said.
Yuri Ruzlyaev added that seizures of large batches directly affects the drug situation in the region.
“Last year, we registered up to 10-15 cases of drug seizures, but last month, when a large batch was confiscated in Zarechny, we registered only 1-2 cases,” he concluded.
