Penza, 17 February 2014. PenzaNews. Neurosurgical department will be established in Penza regional children's hospital named after N. Filatov.
As the press service of the regional Ministry of Health told news agency “PenzaNews,” 10 beds of pediatric surgery will be redesigned specifically for this purpose.
“Neurosurgical beds will operate as a part of the surgical department,” the ministry commented.
The press service explained that each year over 150 children need neurosurgical operations associated with acute brain injuries, congenital hydrocephalus, brain tumors and diseases of perinatal period.
“Previously, such help was provided to children in the Regional Clinical Hospital named after N. Burdenko. Creation of neurosurgical department will give an opportunity to concentrate all the services provided to young patients in the specialized institution for children,” the press service stressed.
The Ministry of Health of the Penza region added that the decision on the temporary transfer of three beds of Varvarovskaya dispensary in Kamensky area to Golovinshchinskaya dispensary was due to the lack of the local therapist.
“As soon as the personnel problem is solved, Varvarovskaya dispensary will resume the work of day hospital beds,” the ministry concluded.
