Penza, 26 February 2014. PenzaNews. Two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko will not take part in “The Show of Champions” in Penza, which was originally scheduled for March 8, and then postponed until April 23.

However, the show will take place, but it will involve other skaters – friends of Evgeni Plushenko.

In the same way the program will be presented in Balakovo, Ulyanovsk, Vladimir, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Vladivostok, Togliatti, Kolomna and Balashikha.

“During the Olympic Games in Sochi Evgeni Plushenko injured his spine. After the examination, the treating physicians assigned the date for a new operation — March 2 — and insisted on cancellation of the tour for the athlete’s rehabilitation for a period of 3 months. Part of the tour in support of Evgeni Plushenko will be held in April 2014 with his fellow skaters, but, unfortunately, without his participation. The tour with Evgeni Plushenko is planned after his full rehabilitation. Organizers and personally Evgeni Plushenko apologize for the inconvenience,” a message posted on the official website of the athlete reads.
