The three-day marathon, during which an idea was made into a prototype of mobile application, was attended by 14 teams. Most of them were composed of Penza developers. There were also participants from Moscow, and the youngest programmers came from Bekovo village.

As the founder of Mdday project Mikhail Denisov noted, Penza made a good impression on the experts and mentors from the capital.

“Penza surprised by the number of participants and the level of projects submitted. During the current season, we have held about nine hackathons, and Penza can be called one of the cities saturated with good projects. And the hardest thing for me as a member of the jury was choosing the winner among several very strong teams,” Mikhail Denisov said.

Welcoming the participants at the closing ceremony, the leader of the Penza association of software developers “Secon” Maksim Semenkin noted some of the difficulties faced by the organizers, including misunderstanding of activities by the local developers, and thanked the programmers who still dared to participate in “Hackaphone#Penza.”

This idea was continued by the representative of “Bit.Games” Vladimir Rozov, who expressed hope that the upcoming projects of association “Secon” will involve three times as many residents of the cluster.

According to a member of the jury, the representative of the Internet service “Moya svadba” [My wedding] Alexei Petrushov, he was pleased that all applications developed during hackathon in Penza are directly related to the life and are not some abstraction.

“It does not matter what points you got, what is important is how the users you are going to estimate your projects when you publish your applications online. Post them online tomorrow and you will find out the assessment made by the actual users, who will pay you in the end,” Alexei Petrushov said.

All the experts noted that the decision of who the winner is, was difficult to make, but it was a unanimous.

As a result, the electronic drum set by “Exdrummer” was recognized the best project, the second place went to “Alpha” developers, and the third to the representatives of Moscow “Team4Dev.”

“No name Team” was awarded a diploma in Google DevArt nomination.

Moreover, Mikhail Denisov told the audience that the representatives of Mdday project decided to institute a minimum venture investment fund for the most interesting developments.

“It provides for small investment of those teams that can pull a minimal product out of a prototype. That is, we are ready to offer negotiations to several teams which did not win,” the founder of Mdday project explained.

At the end of the official part of the ceremony the technical evangelist of group of companies Digital October, a mentor and a member of the jury Grigory Petrov thanked the initiators and co-organizers of the event — the Center of cluster development of the Penza region and personally its general director Mikhail Lyashkov, and all the participants.

“It is a great pleasure attending this event. You are great, you tried to make your software. Do not stop, this is important. You will not be afraid in your future work if you decide to do something. Now you know that you can do it,” Grigory Petrov stressed.
