One-ruble worth apartment sale found legitimate by Penza court

Penza, 12 March 2014. PenzaNews. Oktyabrsky District Court of Penza dismissed the claims of a local resident to invalidate the purchase and sale of an apartment worth one ruble, which occurred in 2000.

“In early 1999, the woman got into a difficult situation, due to the deterioration of her health, she concerned about the possibility of a sudden death. Since the plaintiff was the owner of two apartments, on the advice of her niece, she decided to re-register the flat located in Stroiteley Street to her niece's name. In turn, the relative of the woman assured her that in case she feels better, she will return the apartment. Also in 2003, the resident of Penza let her niece have the other flat at the cost of 600 thousand rubles in Glazunova Street, in which the plaintiff is registered and still lives,” the official representative of Oktyabrsky District Court of Penza told news agency PenzaNewson Wednesday, March 12.
He added that in May 2013 the woman asked her niece to return her apartment in Stroiteley Street, but she refused.
“Upon the review of the case, the court concluded that the parties contracted according to the law and contains all the essential terms. In addition, the court found it necessary to deny the claim because the limitation period for the claim about application of consequences of invalidity of a void transaction. The decision of the court has come into force,” the agency interlocutor said.
