Ten school forms in six schools placed in quarantine in Penza

Penza, 13 March 2014. PenzaNews. Ten forms in six educational establishments — schools No. 65/23, 8, 51, 42, lyceum No. 73 and gymnasium “San” — were placed in quarantine due to a high incidence of acute respiratory viral infections. This was announced by the press service of the Federal Service for Customer Supervision of Russia in the Penza region on Thursday, March 13.
The department explained that the increase in URTI is a seasonal phenomenon.
“There is a growing incidence rate in the age group of 3 to 6 years old — 221,3 cases per 100 thousand people. Morbidity of children from 7 to 14 years old increased by 25,8% and amounted to — 117,3 cases per 100 thousand people,” the department told news agency “PenzaNews.”
The press service clarified that last week, no cases of flu were revealed.
