Campaign “Report, where death is sold!” started in Penza region

Penza, 17 March 2014. PenzaNews. The Penza region joined the seventh all-Russian anti-drug campaign “Report, where death is sold!” which was launched on Monday, March 17.

Its first stage will last until March 28, and the second will be held on November 17-28.

During the campaign, the rapid response team of the regional department of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service will be working around the clock to immediately start off to verify the information received about the crimes and offenses related to drug trafficking.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Penza region, as of January 1, 2014, over 1,380 thousand drug addicts registered at the regional dispensary. At the same time, in 2013, there were 113 people registered with addiction diagnosis, including seven minors, six of them arrived for the first time.

An overwhelming number of drug addicts under medical supervision registered in the past year use drugs of opium — 86,3%. Another 5,9 % suffer from cannabinoid addiction, 4,8% have psychostimulant addiction, and 3,1% use polydrugs.

In 2013, 350 cases of acute poisoning with drugs and psychodisleptic medications were registered in the Penza region. In 79,1 % of cases the type of psychodisleptic medications was unspecified, cannabinoids — in 16,9%, opiates — 3,1%.
