Penza, 17 March 2014. PenzaNews. The repair of Penza sidewalks is hampered by the absence of required funds in the 2014 budget. This was announced by mayor Roman Chernov during the meeting of the standing committee of the City Duma on local government, monitoring of the activities of agencies and officials on Monday, March 17.

“We have prepared the program only for the road network. The lack of resources does not allow us to repair sidewalks actively. You know that we are provided with only 60 million rubles for the whole road network, most of the contracts has been concluded. The work will start as soon as weather conditions permit,” he said.

“As for sidewalks, unfortunately, I would have to repeat that the money we have is not enough to start any kind of repair work,” Roman Chernov added.
