Penza, 19 March 2014. PenzaNews. The meeting of deputy directors for regulations and physical protection of Russian nuclear power plants (NPP) with the participation of contractors and subcontractors started in Penza on Wednesday, March 19.

The program of the two-day event includes the establishment of systems of physical protection of both existing NPPs and those under construction.

“This protection includes a range of technical and organizational measures, preservation of nuclear materials and radioactive substances contained in NPP, prevention of unauthorized entry into the territory of stations, early detection and suppression of acts that threaten the security of the object,” the press officer of JSC “CESIS NIKIRET” Sergei Dolzhenkov.

According to him, the participants plan to visit production sites and experimental enterprises engaged in manufacturing of security systems for facilities of special importance.

“Penza as the host of the meeting was not chosen randomly. The region is an active branch developing, designing and manufacturing engineering and technical means of physical protection and security equipment for objects at various levels of importance,” the agency interlocutor noted.
