Penza, 20 March 2014. PenzaNews. A video camera mounted in the facilities of Penza zoo, where kangaroos Bennett are kept, recorded that there is a calf hiding in the female's pouch.

The adult animal together with a ruffed grouse and Patagonian maras was delivered to Penza from Novosibirsk in 2013 to replenish the zoo collection and to mate.

After some time, the specialists began suspecting that there may be a cub in the pouch of the female kangaroo. That is when the camera was installed, and it recorded that, indeed, in the late afternoon the cub appears from the pouch. At the slightest rustle it hides again.

The exact age of the cub has not been identified. However, according to the scientists, the cub comes out of the pouch within approximately 225 days, the official website of Penza zoo informs.
