Polish apples to be withdrawn from Penza stores

Penza, 26 March 2014. PenzaNews. Organizations involved in food supply in the Penza region will have to withdraw Polish apples “Gala.” This was announced by the press service of the regional Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being on Wednesday, March 26.

The service explained that Swedish specialists found traces of toxic substance dimethoate in one of the batches.
“The investigation revealed that the main producers of apples are two Polish companies — Gospodarstwo Ogrodnicze Grazyna Napiorkowska and Gospodarstwo Sadownicze Przybylski Grzegorz,” the press service told news agency “PenzaNews.”
The service added that information about potentially dangerous products arrived in Russia in the framework of the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).
