Hot water to be cut off due to gas debts in Penza

Penza, 16 April 2014. PenzaNews. Hot water supply may be cut off in Penza, Nizhny Lomov, Nikolsk, Kamenka, Kuznetsk, Serdobsk and seven area of the region — Bessonovsky, Gorodishchensky, Kolyshleysky, Pachelmsky, Penzensky, Sosnovoborsky and Spassky — due to the failure of utility organizations to meet their obligations to the gas supplier. This was announced in an official statement by LLC “Gazprom mezhregiongaz Penza.”

The statement explains that as of April 1, 2014, the municipal utility serices of the Penza region owe over 615 million rubles for gas.

“The organization with the largest debts are the following: Nizhny Lomovsk LLC “TEK” — 55,3 million rubles and LLC “Teplovik” — 23,87 million rubles, municipal organization “Kamensky city electricity and heating network” — 63,18 million rubles, municipal organization “Nikolsky Utility Services” — 26,44 million rubles, Serdobsk LLC “Gelios” — 15,45 million rubles, and municipal organization “Serdobsky heating network” — 19,23 million rubles,” the statement reports.

It goes on saying that at the end of the heating period, the company “Gazprom mezhregiongaz Penza” intends to implement measures to control and stop gas supply to the indebted utilities organizations.

“This is scheduled for 70 organizations in 25 cities and areas. These measures will be implemented from April 15 to May 23, 2014,” the statement reads.

The company's decision was commented by the General Director of “Gazprom mezhregiongaz Penza” Andrei Razumov.

“We are concerned about the situation and we regret that we have to implement such extreme measures due to ineffective management of indebted organizations, city and regional authorities,” he said.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the gas debt issue is typical of many regions of Russia.

According to newspaper “Izvestia,” the maximum amount of debt, which is over 7,61 billion rubles, belongs to the Moscow region. The top five also includes North Ossetia — 4,2 billion rubles, Krasnodar Krai — 2,32 billion rubles, Kabardino-Balkaria — 2,16 billion rubles, and the Tver region — 1,93 billion rubles.

due to the increase in the total debt “Gazprom Mezhregiongas” plans to limit or stop the gas supply to 700 enterprises in 57 regions of the country from April 15 till the end of the heating season.
