Around 3,5 thousand children born in Penza region since the beginning of 2014

Penza, 21 April 2014. PenzaNews. 3,478 children were born in the Penza region in the first quarter of 2014.
“Compared to the previous year, the birth rate increased from 10,2 to 10,4 per one thousand people. The highest birth rate is registered in Gorodishchensky, Kolyshleysky and Sosnovoborsky areas. 1,355 children were born in Penza,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Health informed news agency “PenzaNews.”
The ministry added that from January to March 273 less people died in the region compared to the same period last year.
“The mortality rate is below regional index in Penza, Bessonovsky, Gorodishchensky, Kuznetsky, and Spassky areas. Among the causes of death, the leading place belongs to the circulatory system diseases — 59,7%, neoplasms — 13,8%, and accidents, poisonings, traumas — 8,9 %,” the Ministry of Health in the region reported.
The press service also noted that mortality of working population decreased by 3,4%.
“It amounted to 523,7 people per 100 thousand of working-age population compared to 541,9 in 2013,” the Ministry of Health of the Penza region specified.
