The campaign is organized by the activists of “Young Guard of United Russia” national civil organization. The activists are handing out St. George’s ribbons to the pedestrians.
“You can get the symbol of the Victory on any day from 13:00 to 19:00 on Moskovskaya street, on Marshal Zhukov square, and also by ‘Gidrostroyevskiy’ and ‘Okean’ stores,” said Kseniya Chernaya, one of the campaign organizers.
In his turn, Dmitriy Semin, leader of “Young Guard of United Russia” national youth organization regional headquarters, addressed the citizens of Penza with the request to wear St. George’s ribbons correctly – closer to one’s heart.
“When a symbol of the Victory gets turned into just a strip of cloth hanging on a car or a bag, this goes against the very idea of the campaign. We must make it so that when somebody sees the St. George’s ribbon, he is reminded about the heroic deed of the soldiers who protected the country we are living in,” he emphasized.
