City hall: around 33 thousand Penza citizens took part in Saturday clean-up

Penza, 28 April 2014. PenzaNews. Around 33 thousand Penza citizens took part in city-wide volunteer Saturday clean-up that took place last Saturday, April 28, as agency PenzaNews was informed by the mayor’s press office on Monday, April 28.
“More than 3 thousand trees– mostly birch, lime tree, maple, hawthorn, fir and mountain ash saplings – were planted during the city cleaning campaign. In Lermontov public garden, more than 60 fir trees have been planted in preparations to celebrating the poet’s 200-year anniversary,” the Penza administration representative clarified.
The press center added that more than 2.300 cubic meters of urban ore were disposed of as a result of the volunteer Saturday clean-up.
“The clean-up participants cleaned the grass patches, public gardens, parks and city woods – 7 thousand square meters altogether. Also, six cemeteries were put into shape. In total, Penza citizens have cleaned up more 10.549 square meters of city territory,” the city hall representative said.
