During the action, car drivers will be examined for drunk driving in multiple parts of Penza and region every day,” told the outreach office of regional STSI agency.

The agency representative added an increase of road accidents caused by drunk drivers was observed in May 2013.

“Every fifth traffic accident in the region was caused by drunk drivers,” the STSI representative added.

The outreach office representative noted that more than 35 traffic accidents occurred in the first quarter of 2014, and six people died and 58 injured as a result.

“A growth of such accidents is noted in Penza, and also in Spassk, Kuznetsk, Lunino, Narovchat and Nikolsk regions,” the agency representative said.
