Penza, 1 May 2014. PenzaNews. More than 5 thousand people took part in a solemn public rally dedicated to the Spring and Labour Day. The rally took place on Lenin square in Penza on Thursday, May 1.

The citizens organized in files went to the square centers with flags and banners accompanied by a brass orchestra.

Welcoming the rally participants, Vasiliy Bochkarev, governor of Penza region, expressed his hope that the days of May will bring upon the time of active rejuvenation.

“I am sure that we will have more new beautiful families who will have the present and the future. We will have healthy, smart children that will do everything to make the land more beautiful. They will save the nature and defend their country,” said head of the region.

Vasiliy Bochkarev emphasized that currently internal affairs and economic development of Russia as a whole and each region in particular must be given special attention.

“The world introduces sanctions. This is disreputable and unjust. With these actions, we are pushed towards our self-fulfillment. I hope that the size of business will grow. Our main task is to create more production facilities in order to replace import,” he emphasized.

In his turn, Ivan Belozertsev, chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, noted that the First of May glorifies a man of labour who is the main arm of society development.

“Pride for the people who work on production facilities, in small and medium enterprises, in agriculture sphere, is slowly coming back to our life. The situation in the world is tense, but in spite of that we must develop, improve our labour productivity, master new examples of produced goods. We have everything for that,” speaker of regional parliament said.

The solemn event was continued by a concert of “The Voices of Russia” musical ensemble of Penza.

In addition to that, field kitchen was available for the participants of the festive event.
