Penza, 7 May 2014. PenzaNews. More than 103 thousand school students will have a rest in summer camps organized in Penza region territory during the summer 2014 recreational campaign, said Svetlana Kopeshkina, Minister of Education of the region, during the media briefing on Wednesday, May 7.

She clarified that around 500 institutions will open their doors for the children, including 429 day summer camps, 30 work-and-recreation camps, 28 suburban camps, 3 sanatory camps and 2 tent camps.

“The kids who are 14-15 years old are often bored by the regular suburban camps. In a work-and-recreation camp, each day will be filled with useful labor, sports and recreation. It is work which is very important for the oncoming generation, especially if you note that the children may earn their first money in such camps,” minister noted.

Svetlana Kopeshkina emphasized that the summer rest campaign will be free for the children in difficult life situations, whom are more than 24.5 thousands in the region.

She explained that currently the summer camps are being fully equipped with teachers and medical workers, and that all the establishments will be tested by the relevant government bodies between the end of May and the middle of June.

“Parents and teachers must unite now to help children spend their summer safe. The must not let anyone get harmed,” press center of Penza administration quotes the minister.

Above 340 mln rubles is allotted in Penza region for the children’s rest and recreation in 2014.

Around 50 mln rubles is allotted from the federal budget, 208 mln rubles – from the regional budget and around 85 mln rubles – from municipal budgets.
